After an ethnographic fieldwork conducted in post-soviet Kyrgyzstan, this paper analyzes the local effects of a NGO project dedicated to tourism. Firstly, it enlightens the discrepancies between the expectations of tourists, those of an NGO and those of the beneficiaries of the project.
